Simon Cox

       

Simon is the Director of Diverse Matters Ltd. He manages development of the business and delivers consultancy, training and support for clients. Simon had some 15 years as a Human Resources Manager and Local Authoity lead on Equality and Diversity before setting up Diverse Matters Limited in 2006. He has extensive experience of leading projects and delivering organisational development and improvement. He has worked at a senior level within HR Management Teams within the local government sector.

With specialist knowledge and expertise in disability equality, Simon has supported a wide range of organisations inc. voluntary organisation's of disabled people in campaigns, independent living, consultation and engagement and Local Authorities, leading service and employment design and delivery, including achievements through The Equality Standard for Local Government. 

Simon's personal experience of disability has been important in shaping his commitment and approach to equality, diversity and rights and to challenging barriers.  He is an innovative and proactive manager with strong ethical values and purpose.

Simon has managed several Local Authority service functions including: Equality & Diversity teams, Policy & Performance, Occupational health and Staff Counselling Services, operational HR Teams, and various project teams at Leicester City Council, North Yorkshire County Council and within the voluntary/not-for-profit sector. His wide ranging experience and original approach ensures his consultancy and training support is innovative, creative, pragmatic and leads to strategic outcomes focused on individual and organisational improvement.

Simon is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD)

Steph Cutler       

Steph has a commercial background and has travelled internationally while working in the highly competitive fashion industry. She has worked in designing, marketing, buying and sales for companies such as Ted Baker and suppliers to Marks and Spencer.

Steph experienced unexpected sight loss in 2003 and went on to set up Open Eyed, a disability equality consultancy in the UK.

 

She talks credibly and from experience about the benefits and requirements for businesses and organisations of making their products and services accessible to all.

 

Steph is a popular writer, trainer, professional speaker and entrepreneur.

 

Steph and her businesses have won national recognition in three high profile business awards including being a national finalist in Enterprising Young Brit 2006. She is a national Ambassador for Women's Enterprise.

Pami Loomba     

A lawyer by profession, Pami has over 20 years experience in Human Rights Law including, Race Relations, Disability, Equality and Diversity. She is CIPD qualified and a Professional Coach. Her work has been deeply rooted in resistance to social injustice and her focus always on empowering people to make their own life choices and fulfil their maximum potential.

 As a BME woman with a disability and now challenged with post polio syndrome Pami is used to facing and overcoming barriers in her life using them as opportunities for personal growth. As a result she brings greater added value to her contribution and delivery of coaching services and training. Her creative and innovative style ensures her audiences are engaged and inspired, effecting lasting personal change.






 


 

Ajmer Singh     

Ajmer is a seasoned HR professional with some 20 years public and commercial sector experience gathered across the breadth of the function with both medium and large organisations.

Ajmer has held a variety of roles from head of Service and senior corporate adviser to operational generalist adviser and applies his knowledge and experience in a very real and practical way.

Ajmer Specialises in employment law, resourcing, equalities, change management and Employee relations, He is also certified by the British Psychological Society to design and deliver psychometric testing for both assessment and development centres. He is a Chartered Fellow of CIPD and also a member of the Institute of Payroll & Pension Management.

 

 





Paul Fagan       

Paul began training in 1985, and has worked both in the UK and in Europe. His direct experience of disability has given him an active interest in the rights of disabled people. He has worked with Local Authorities, statutory bodies and the voluntary sector.
His engaging and inclusive style puts participants immediately at their ease and enables them to engage fully in the subject matter. 
Committed to equality & diversity generally and the rights of disabled people particularly, Paul injects great enthusiasm,passion and humour into his work.  Recently he was commissioned by North Yorkshire County Council to deliver a series of short back to back disability equality seminars which were attended by over two hundred staff.  Feedback from participants has been exceptionally positive.
Paul has developed a particular knowledge of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 and has very practical suggestions for its implementation.














 

Dipak Arya

 

With a varied local government background spanning some 18 years. A qualified youth and community worker, a team manager and experience in social services, education and chief Executives department's, Dipak uses his wide-ranging community based experience to the benefit of clients looking for community development and engagement expertise.

Recently, Dipak has assisted a range of public service organisations, supporting both departmental and corporate service improvement. In particular, their equality and diversity and leadership and management development. Dipak enables organisations to achieve significant improvements in their race equality performance from service user involvement to impact assessment, and recruitment diversity to developing leadership potential.
