Overview

Paul Fagan

Paul began training in 1985, and has worked both in the UK and in Europe. He has worked with Local Authorities, statutory bodies and the voluntary sector. His engaging and inclusive style puts participants immediately at their ease and enables them to engage fully as active learners.

  • Specialist skills & experience
  • Committed to equality & diversity generally and the rights of disabled people particularly, Paul injects great enthusiasm, passion and humour into his work. Prior to becoming an independent Disability Equality Trainer and Consultant he was for 12 years Disabilities Officer for the London Borough of Brent.

He has a portfolio of clients in Ireland and the UK, covering a broad range of needs. As well as supporting organisations to improve service delivery and employment practices, Paul has an extensive background and experience of work with self-organised groups of disabled people and related services on issues such as peer and self-advocacy, independent living and personal and interpersonal skills development.

Paul's direct experience of disability has given him an active interest in the rights of disabled people. And, his work empowering disabled people to live independent lives through coaching, mentoring and facilitating learning has achieved great results for individuals, organisations and indeed for his own professional satisfaction. His passion for disability equality and rights is evidenced not just in his enthusiasm for his work but also in exceptionally positive participant feedback.

Paul has developed a particular knowledge of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 and has very practical suggestions for its implementation.
