Overview
Steph has a commercial background and has travelled internationally while working in the highly competitive fashion industry. She has worked in designing, marketing, buying and sales for companies such as Ted Baker and suppliers to Marks and Spencer. Steph experienced unexpected sight loss in 2003 and now works as a disability equality consultant with a range of organizations in both the public and private sectors.
Steph talks credibly and from experience about the benefits and requirements of making products and services accessible to all. She has particular expertise in disability equality and motivating others to adopt inclusive employment practices and service provision. Steph also inspires and supports disabled people to achieve their goals. She runs specialist programmes on job seeking, self employment and personal leadership.
An innovative entrepreneur she has won acclaim for her approach and commitment to diversity as a trainer, writer, professional speaker and role model for other disabled people. Steph and her businesses have won national recognition in three high profile business awards including national finalist in Enterprising Young Brit 2006. She is a national Ambassador for Women's Enterprise.

Nottingham City Council engaged Diverse Matters Ltd. to deliver 90 minute programmes for managers and employees. With a practical focus on the Social Model of disability these events strike a balance of challenge and support and give staff the confidence and strategies they need to improve service delivery and team working.
