Sarah Burrell

Diversity & Inclusion consultant

Sarah Burrell is an inclusion consultant, specialising in strategic and transformational Inclusive growth. She equips organisations with the tools, awareness, knowledge, and insight needed enabling them to practice inclusive leadership and implement inclusive processes, utilising a holistic approach to respect, value and embrace difference. Sarah collaborates with clients to facilitate equity, inclusive growth, and cultural transformation, enabling true psychological safety, and empowering every individual to thrive as their most authentic selves.

A teenage girl nervously approached her drama teacher, she worked up the courage to say how much she wanted to improve her confidence through continuing to do drama at GCSE. She was met with a blank stare followed by a comment that would end up impacting her entire life and has stuck with her ever since, ‘but you can’t speak’. That girl was Sarah. Knowing what it’s like to feel so excluded drives her passion and commitment to challenge attitudes so that no one else will have to have that feeling. Inclusion is her ultimate mission.

Over the past decade, Sarah has worked within the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. Sarah is delighted to have been invited to join three boards in 2021: Healthwatch Merton, the Equality & Diversity Committee with South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust, and the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee at Eventwell.

She is passionate about sharing her expertise and is excited to work with organisations to implement systemic change through inclusive frameworks geared towards curating inclusive workforce dynamics. Sarah supports her local government Community Champions; she chairs and facilitates community outreach forums; and actively supports her regional NHS Mental Health Involvement Team.
