EHRC: Code of Practice Consultation

Referenced here previously, following the Supreme Court’s judgment of 16 April 2025 in For Women Scotland v Scottish Ministers, the Equality and Human Rights Commission has opened a public consultation on updates they have made to their Code of Practice for services, public functions and associations. The deadline for submissions has been extended to 11:59pm on Monday 30th June.  You can take part here.

June 22nd - Windrush Day

June 22nd marks Windrush Day, when passengers from all over the Caribbean, including Jamacia, Trinidad, St Lucia, Grenada, and Barbados, disembarked from the merchant ship Empire Windrush. Many of those who arrived had served in the British armed forces during the war.  As part of these celebrations, Wolverhampton's first African-Caribbean councillor has said she is "proud" to be recognised for her contributions, ahead of a bronze bust being unveiled.
